Update (January 20, 2017)

Entertaining Children in the Hospital

Grande Prairie Hospital Foundation, Grande Prairie, Alberta

Dynacorp Fabricators Inc. in partnership with the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital Foundation donated $2500 and 30 teddy bears to the Pediatric Ward at the QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie. Half of the donations were raised by Dynacorp staff at the 2015 annual Christmas Party in Grande Prairie and the other half was matched by company President and CEO, Justin Morin.

The Teddy Bears were handed out to children at the hospital over the Christmas Holidays during pre and post-surgery. The bears helped children cope with the stresses of surgery and also gave them something to bring home upon their release.

The cash donation was spent on an entertainment area that will be built over the first quarter of 2016 in the Pediatric Ward. The new entertainment area will provide children and their families the opportunity to watch movies, play video games or simply relax on the new furniture. We can’t wait to see the finished product! We will update everyone when the project is completed!

Update (April 1/2016)

Construction is complete. Check out the before and after pictures of the new entertainment area in the Pediatric ward at the Grande Prairie QEII Hospital.

Education Matters

Calgary Foundation

Wood’s Homes, Juno House, Calgary Counselling Centre

It’s almost impossible to say the name “W. Brett Wilson” in Calgary’s business community without immediate recognition. Known as a business leader and philanthropist, in 2013 and 2014 Brett focused on tackling the issue of adolescent mental health.

“Handing our contribution over to Brett’s cause was an easy decision. We believe so much in the power of students in this province, yet often they need more than just help with a career or scholarship,” said Justin Morin, CEO and President of Dynacorp. “Organizations like Wood’s Homes, Juno House, and the Calgary Counselling Centre ensure those students have a strong foundation internally. Then we can help with the external, like employing them in successful, long-term careers.”
